Bruce Gilden

After looking at various Street photographers from NYC, like Joel Meyerowitz and Bruce Davidson in previous projects, I discovered Bruce Gilden. He stood out with his very confrontational 'in your face style'. Here are a few of my favorites taken from Magnum photos.

I think this photograph is amazing mainly because where do you find old american italian gangsters knower days? and secondly due to the interesting contrasting leading lines running in different directions through the photograph ultimately making you focus on the man again.

I'm not sure this woman is shocked thats she's having her photograph taken but it sure makes for another great photograph. I really like how the background is so blurred but the subjects are still in focus. i think the way he has managed to keep them in focus is by useing a flash.
