Nuneaton and Coventry

I went to Coventry and Nuneaton yesterday, I was looking for Different religions and Nationalities. I don't know what it is about these two places but know one would let me take there photograph. I asked about about 30 different people from asian women in burkas to your normal everyday business man and I only managed to take about 7 or 8 portraits none of which where asians or business man, although I did find a few interesting people. Here are a few of them.

No money but still need to shoot!

After traveling to London, Leicester, Leamington Spa and Birmingham I officially became poor. I still needed and wanted to make more images, so I decided to use a place where there are many different types of people and and plenty of opportunity to photograph them. College! I found it really easy to photograph people around college because they were a lot easier to approach and sometimes much friendlier than people in Leamington Spa! There was only 1 problem, this was that everyone is of a similar age at college and dont dress that different. It is really hard to delve into the subculture they belong to.

Birmingham Number 2!

Leicster Shoot

This is the second street portrait shoot I did I went better than the first shoot mainly because I asked people that I thought I wouldn't usually think about or even notice when I walk down the street. Here are some of my Favourites.

First Birmingham shoot! (avehall style)

I really like these images. this is the first time I've asked someone if i could take there photograph and I found it amazingly easy! I have a new found passion for street portraits.

Darren Hall. exactly what I'm looking for.

Searching on google I can across a very interesting street portrait photographer named Darren Hall. I find his images interesting not only because of the subject in them but also the way he uses light and the background to add to the photograph and make it more aesthetically pleasing for me. Along side Daniel Meadows and Avedon I would really like to try and merge there styles together to create interesting portraits of my own. Anyway here are a few of Darren's images.

2nd trip to London!

I feel this trip went a lot better than the first because of 2 main factors!
1. I spent a lot more time making images
2. I had a lot more confidence.
Although I took photographs of the people I am looking for I don't feel that they connect with the viewer enough and I would like to make it clearer who I'm actually looking at. Here are a few of my favorite shots.
